More About Mariah!

Mariah moved to Pittsburgh from a small town in central PA in 2016. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in counseling psychology at Chatham University. After graduation, Mariah plans to become an LPC and obtain certification in play therapy.

In 2020, Mariah received her bachelor's degree in social work from Chatham University. During her undergraduate years, Mariah focused her research on the lifetime effects of childhood trauma and the importance of play in social-emotional growth. Mariah worked as a therapeutic childcare professional at a crisis nursery. In this role, she discovered her passion for working with neurodivergent children. She wrote a grant to acquire sensory tools for children to use in the center and take home, and provided staff with education on sensory processing. As an early childhood educator, Mariah used play to teach young children about emotional identification and regulation. Mariah is passionate about creating safe, accessible, and nurturing spaces for all children. She is excited to work with the neurodivergent community.

In her free time, Mariah loves spending time with her fiancé, son, and their two cats. She can be found exploring the outdoors, searching for books and trinkets, or enjoying live music!
