I moved to Pittsburgh from a small town in central Pennsylvania in 2016. In 2020 I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Chatham University, where my research focused on the lifelong effects of childhood trauma and the role of play in social-emotional development. During this time, I worked as a therapeutic childcare professional at a crisis nursery, where I discovered my passion for supporting neurodivergent children and their families. I later worked as an early childhood educator, using play-based approaches to help young children build emotional awareness, identification, and regulation skills.
I went on to receive my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University and I am currently working toward licensure under the supervision of April Artz, LPC.
I believe therapy should be a collaborative and empowering process, where clients are honored as the experts of their own lived experiences. I highly value the therapeutic relationship and believe meaningful growth stems from connection, safety, and acceptance. In our work together, we can focus on building emotional regulation, executive functioning, and practical life skills in ways that feel engaging and manageable. We can also explore the layered experiences of neurodivergence, and the challenges of existing within systems that were not built with us in mind. I work to tailor my approach to each individual’s unique strengths, needs, and goals. I also love incorporating creativity and play into sessions.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, son, and our two cats. I love being outdoors, browsing for books and trinkets, and appreciating live music.
