More About Hannah!

Hannah (she/her) recently graduated with her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Chatham University in 2025. In her undergraduate career, she often centered her work on trauma and the ways in which trauma in childhood can affect individuals later in life. In the spring of 2025, she was the recipient of the Montgomery Psychology Award, which is given to a student who exhibits outstanding achievement in the field.

Hannah is currently pursuing her Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University. Her graduate work has focused heavily on researching the experiences of individuals, specifically women and femme-aligned people, late diagnosed with autism. Hannah takes an autism affirming treatment approach to working with individuals, as she believes it is important to not over pathologize autistic traits, or view them as problems to be fixed. Rather, Hannah advocates for the belief that autistic individuals deserve to be met exactly where they are and receive individualized care that meets their needs, instead of forcing them into a neurotypical mold. Hannah hopes to create spaces where neurodivergent individuals feel supported in their needs and are able to foster positive self-acceptance through the employment of a strength-based, collaborative, and trauma-informed therapeutic approach.

Hannah has gained professional experience in the field through completing her undergraduate internship at Bell Socialization Services as an Oasis House Mental Health Intern. In her experience there, she worked with adults aged 18 and over who were diagnosed with a severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and others. Hannah completed a volunteer experience at Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR) as a crisis helpline worker, as well, which gave her experience in trauma-informed approaches and crisis management. Hannah has also had professional experiences working with children from birth to age 14 in her roles as a Children's Library Assistant and Park Leader.

In her free time, you can find Hannah hanging out with her cat (who’s her best friend), spending time in nature, and reading a good book!
