More About Bill!

Bill Bain is pursuing his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University while completing his clinical practicum with Connection Counseling & Consultation. Prior to entering the counseling profession, Bill spent more than 20 years in corporate communications. Over time, he realized that the qualities he most valued—listening deeply, building trust, and helping people feel understood—were better suited to the healing professions, leading him to pursue a career in counseling.

In addition to his graduate studies, Bill works with neurodivergent children, providing behavioral support in a clinical setting. His work has strengthened his passion for neurodiversity-affirming care and his belief that meaningful growth begins with understanding each person's unique experiences and strengths.

Bill is especially interested in working with neurodivergent individuals, adults navigating life and career transitions, LGBTQ+ clients, and those experiencing anxiety, depression, or questions of identity and belonging.

Bill believes that meaningful counseling begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, curiosity, and genuine understanding. He strives to create a sense of emotional safety where clients feel comfortable bringing their authentic selves without fear of judgment or the need to "perform." Bill sees counseling as a collaborative process in which clients are supported in discovering new perspectives while remaining in the driver's seat of their own lives.

Outside of counseling, Bill enjoys traveling, writing, exploring technology, and spending time with his dog, Hazel.
